This jailbreak is called Spirit. Its very simple and fast. Spirit jailbreaks 3.1.2 and 3.1.3 running on all iphone and ipod touches. That includes the mc model and new iboot users. This is a untethered jailbreak. If you currently are using a tethered jailbreak, you have to restore to use Spirit. Do not upgrade if you use an unlock on an iPhone 3G or 3GS. (You can, however, restore to 3.1.2 if you have SHSH blobs for that version backed up.) So For Iphone users this is not a unlock, its just a jailbreak. and your iphone must activated with a legit carrier for this to work. So for those in the US you must activate with at&t works Any version of iTunes 9 I recommend that before you jailbreak you back up, restore to a fresh firmware and sync with itunes. This works with both the mac and windows. If you are on 4.0.1, 4.0.2 or 4.1 firmware then simply put iOS4.0.0 in to redsnow to jailbreak your devices respectively as shown in this video. The Written Tutorial: 1) Make a backup in iTunes incase it gos wrong! 2) Download your .ipsw from the link below and download Redsn0w for windows or mac. 3) Plug your iDevice in but turn it off and make sure iTunes is closed. 4) Run Redsn0w and browse for the .ipsw file. Select Next 5) Press Next 6) Put it into DFU mode the way it says to. 7) Watch it install the jailbreak but don’t unplug it until it’s finnished. 
Reboot your iDevice 9) Now It’s Finnished!
